New Caledonia plans La Pirogue stamp in 250 indivisible sheets for autumn salon
Philately NewsNew Caledonia’s La Pirogue, Tisseuse de Liens stamp is among the issues announced for sale at the 79th Salon Philatélique d’Automne in Paris. Timbres Magazine reports that it will be supplied in indivisible sheets of 20 stamps, with 250 sheets printed. That corresponds to 5,000 stamps across the stated sheet printing.
The title presents the canoe as a link between people, cultures and seas. Art du Timbre Gravé also identifies the planned issue as an engraved stamp. New Caledonia is the salon’s guest of honour.
The event runs from 5 to 7 November 2026 in Hall A of Espace Champerret, with free admission. The organiser’s poster gives daily opening at 10am, closing at 5.30pm on Thursday and Friday and 4.30pm on Saturday.
The exhibition programme includes two New Caledonian collections by Jean Daniel Ayache: one examining the territory during the Second World War and another devoted to its aerogrammes.
