Lahore court extends remand in alleged counterfeit US postage-label case
Philately NewsA Lahore judicial magistrate granted a further four days of physical remand for Faheem Akram and a co-suspect in an alleged counterfeit US postage-label case, Daily Times reported on 30 October 2026. The report names Magistrate Naeem Wattoo and says the suspects were ordered to appear again on 3 November.
Pakistani investigators are examining the operation of LabelsBank.com and related financial transactions. The report identifies sixteen bank accounts under scrutiny, seven in Akram’s name and nine held by close family members. These are investigative allegations, not findings of guilt.
A separate US Justice Department announcement of 28 September states that a federal grand jury in the Southern District of Florida indicted Akram over the alleged sale of more than 5.1 million counterfeit shipping labels. Prosecutors allege that labels were offered at a flat price, typically about US$2, regardless of package weight, size or destination, causing losses exceeding US$126 million.
US authorities say the domain was seized and the website shut down under a court order. The indictment includes conspiracy, counterfeit-postage and wire-fraud counts. The Justice Department expressly states that an indictment is an allegation and that defendants are presumed innocent unless proved guilty.
