La Poste presented four stamps honouring El Hadji Amadou Dia Ba at the Museum of Black Civilisations in Dakar on 30 October 2026, the Senegalese Press Agency reported that evening. The series forms part of the postal collection for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

The four designs follow stages in the athlete’s career through the themes of national pride, effort, achievement and passing experience to younger generations. Dia Ba won silver in the 400-metre hurdles at the Seoul Olympics on 25 September 1988, finishing in 47.23 seconds.

Speaking at the presentation, he described the recognition as a national honour and recalled the support he received from young people in Dakar’s Médina district, who had contributed towards a congratulatory telegram during the Seoul Games.

APS describes the wider Dakar 2026 philatelic collection as comprising twelve stamps across ten themes, including Senegal’s cultural heritage, monuments and national symbols. The four Dia Ba stamps are reported as a coordinated component of that collection; the report does not establish their denominations or a first day of postal sale.
