Japan Post announces four regional Frame Stamp sheets with October sales dates
Philately NewsJapan Post published four regional Frame Stamp notices on 9 October 2026, setting out separate sales arrangements for FC Gifu, AIR FESTA HAMAMATSU 2026, Kihoku's 70th anniversary and completion of the restoration of Rurikoji's five-storey pagoda. The notices specify different quantities, prices and participating post offices. All four are scheduled to become available through the postal online shop from 00:15 Japan time on 25 October; online delivery charges are additional to the stated sheet prices.
The FC Gifu sheet contains ten 110-yen stamps and costs 1,850 yen including tax. Japan Post lists 398 sheets, with counter sales starting on 16 October at 139 participating offices across Gifu and neighbouring cities and districts. These include Ogaki, Mizuho, Motosu, Hashima and Kaizu, together with the Motosu, Hashima, Fuwa, Yoro, Anpachi and Ibi districts; designated postal agencies are excluded. The published sheet shows a team photograph above individual footballer portraits and the club's Giffy mascot. Its roster note is dated 20 August 2026. A presentation is arranged at the main-stand side of Himalaya Stadium Gifu in the Gifu Memorial Centre on 17 October. The notice specifies 13:35 as the actual ceremony time, correcting the 13:30 shown in its standard event field.
AIR FESTA HAMAMATSU 2026 has a larger announced quantity of 1,000 sheets. Each contains ten 110-yen stamps and sells for 1,800 yen including tax. Counter sales begin on 19 October at 112 participating post offices in Hamamatsu and Kosai, with the stated exclusions for postal agencies. The official artwork combines photographs of aircraft, aerial displays and a helicopter; a larger aviation photograph forms the upper part of the sheet. Japan Post's product code is 2610000103182. The separate official air-festival programme places the event at Hamamatsu Air Base on 25 October, the same calendar date as the sheet's online sales opening.
The Kihoku anniversary issue is scheduled for 23 October at 22 post offices in Kanoya, Kagoshima, again excluding the specified postal agencies. Its announced quantity is 250 sheets. This product contains five 110-yen stamps, rather than the ten used in the other three notices, and costs 1,350 yen including tax. The illustrated sheet bears the anniversary span 1956–2026 and combines local landscape and community imagery. A presentation is planned for 10:30 on 19 October at the office in Kihoku Uwaba Park, ahead of counter sales. Japan Post names the local revitalisation organisation and the Kanoya city branch office among the recipients. The product code is 2610000103038. Its local presentation precedes counter availability by four days; the online opening follows two days after counter sales.
The Rurikoji product is the second series commemorating completion of the Reiwa-period major restoration of the national-treasure pagoda. Japan Post describes work begun in 2022 and completed after approximately four years. It announces 800 sheets, each with ten 110-yen stamps, priced at 2,000 yen including tax. Counter sales start on 19 October through 94 offices: those in Hofu and Kudamatsu and selected offices in Yamaguchi and Shunan. The artwork includes the pagoda in different settings, architectural details and views within the temple precinct. A presentation is scheduled for 14:00 that day in Rurikoji's main hall in Yamaguchi, with the city's mayor and the temple's chief priest named as recipients. The four notices therefore provide distinct local opening dates before their common online launch.
