A philately club was inaugurated at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ballia, on 12 October 2026 as part of the district’s Fun with Philately Day activities. Postal Superintendent Rajeev Kumar Srivastava opened the club, described by local reporting as the district’s first, and stamps were distributed to students to encourage collecting.

The report also records 1,176 participants in the Dhai Akhar letter-writing competition across seven schools. Pupils wrote about protecting the Earth, linking the postal-week programme with written expression and environmental awareness.

Students from Kidzee School in Ballia and Sun Flower School in Rasra visited the head post office. A My Stamp counter was also established at Ballia Head Post Office for personalised stamp requests.

The new club gives the school a continuing collecting activity beyond a single exhibition or awareness visit.
