Correo Uruguayo reported the launch of a personalised stamp marking 300 years since Canarian families arrived in Uruguay. The presentation took place at the Sociedad Islas Canarias in Montevideo, with representatives of the postal administration and the Canary Islands government among those attending.

The postal administration’s announcement, dated 24 June 2026, says the stamp honours the 25 families who reached Montevideo Bay aboard Nuestra Señora de la Encina on 19 November 1726. The design depicts a mother with children, agricultural work and a ship in the bay. The enlarged stamp displayed at the ceremony bears the “Mi sello” name and the title “Arrorró Uruguay”.
