Ladakh Postal Division issued a special cover depicting Ladakh’s GI-tagged Pashmina textile on 23 October 2026, according to a PTI report published that evening. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena released the envelope at the Sheep Husbandry Farm in Stakna, Leh, during the inauguration of the Pashmina Conclave.

The two-day conclave, held on 23–24 October, was organised by the Ladakh Administration with the Department of Industries and Commerce. Arvind Kher, Superintendent of Post Offices for Ladakh Postal Division, said the cover recognised the contribution of local herders, artisans and producers to the region’s Pashmina heritage.

Delegates from Mongolia, Japan and Thailand attended the conclave, which brought together growers, artisans, entrepreneurs and international buyers. The philatelic release commemorated that gathering and its focus on Ladakh’s textile tradition.

The Ladakh Administration’s official account, dated 23 October, independently records the postal release at the conclave. It also records a cooperation agreement between the Union Ministry of Textiles and Ladakh’s Department of Industries and Commerce, linking the gathering to efforts to develop the Pashmina sector and connect producers with buyers.
