Bermuda releases six-stamp Royal Bermuda Regiment 60th-anniversary collection

The Bermuda Post Office released its six-stamp Royal Bermuda Regiment anniversary collection on 17 September 2026, converting an earlier advance report into a documented issued set. The collection marks the regiment’s 60th anniversary and went on sale as it was unveiled at the Bermuda Post Office.

The six designs show different parts of the regiment’s service, including emergency and disaster response, recruitment and training, ceremonial duties, Coast Guard operations and community service. The set therefore confirms the earlier report that six stamps were planned while adding the actual subjects represented across the issue. Earlier reporting had also identified lithography as the production method; full sheet configuration, printer and total print quantity remain to be established from formal philatelic specifications.

The Royal Bermuda Regiment was formed on 1 September 1965 through the amalgamation of the Bermuda Volunteer Rifle Corps, later known as the Bermuda Rifles, and the Bermuda Militia Artillery. Its work has included hurricane and civil-emergency response, security duties, overseas disaster assistance and maritime search-and-rescue through the Coast Guard.

The release also corrects an important point in the earlier advance report: this issue commemorates the regiment’s 60th anniversary, not its 65th. Governor Andrew Murdoch and Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation Minister Emilygail Dill took part in the unveiling, while Lieutenant-Colonel Duncan Simons described the stamp issue as the finale to the regiment’s anniversary year. The new release-day reporting and photographs establish that the stamps entered sale and document the subjects and ceremony that were not confirmed in the original August report.
