Algeria marks 70 years since the Soummam Congress with commemorative stamp

Algérie Poste issued a commemorative stamp for the 70th anniversary of the Soummam Congress, according to a report published by Algeria's national news agency on 19 August 2026. The stamp was presented in Bejaia during an international conference titled “The Culture of Resistance between History, Memory and Imagination.”

The commemoration refers to the congress held on 20 August 1956 during the Algerian War of Independence.
